Scholarship Info
The ASEAN Scholarships are offered annually to outstanding students from all ASEAN countries. They provide an opportunity for studies in top
secondary school and junior college in Singapore leading to the General Certificate of Education (Advanced) Level (or equivalent)
Examination.
These ASEAN Scholarship 2007 are offered to ASEAN based students to study in SIngapore by the Ministry of Education, Singapore , in line with
the Singapore Government’s long-term objective of helping our ASEAN neighbours develop their human resource.
Application for the scholarships will open 1 February to 13 April 2007.

Eligibility
- Applicants must be nationals of Malaysia.
- Applicants must be studying in Malaysia at the time of application .Those already
studying in Singapore schools need not apply.
- Applicants for the secondary one Scholarship must be studying in Standard 6/ Form 1
or its equivalent at the time of application and should be born between 1993 – 1995.
- Applicants for the Secondary Three Scholarship must be studying in Form 2/Form 3 or
its equivalent at the time of application and should be born between 1991 – 1993.
- Applicants for the Pre-University Scholarship must be studying in Form 5 or its
equivalent at the time of application and should be born between 1989 – 1991.
Scholarship Value
- Allowance of S$2,200 (Secondary) or $2,400 (Pre-University) per annum with
accommodation
S$200 Settling – in allowance (once only).
- Return transport allowance to and from Singapore at start and end of the
scholarship term (W.Malaysia) Or air ticket to and from Singapore at the start and end of the scholarship term
(E.Malaysia).
- Exemption from donation to the Education Fund for study in Singapore
schools.
- Exemption from payment of GCE ‘O’ / ‘A’ Level (or equivalent) Examination fees
(once only, where applicable).
- Subsidized medical benefits.
- 24-hour accident & insurance cover .
- There is no bond attached to the ASEAN Scholarship, however scholars will be
required to execute a scholarship deed with the Ministry of Education to complete the General Certificate of education (Advanced )
Level (or equivalent) Examinations.

apply
Application for the scholarships will open 1 February to 13 April 2007.Application forms may be downloaded from our website:

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to sit for a selection test in early June 2007. Candidates who perform well in the selection test will be
invited for an interview in late August 2007. Successful candidates will be admitted to selected secondary schools or junior college in Singapore
in January 2008.
The Award of ASEAN Scholarship 2007 at Pre-University level is provisional – confirmation of award will be made in Mar / Apr 2008 subject to good
performance in the GCE ‘O’ Level/ SPM (or equivalent) examinations.
