Amongst HSBC Malaysia's current initiatives include setting aside a scholarship fund*, holding the HSBC Young Entrepreneur Awards to encourage entrepeneurship amongst Malaysian undergraduates, as well as a programme geared towards strengthening English literacy in Malaysia.

The HSBC Scholarship Award aims to assist malaysian students from low-income backgrounds from all over the country to undertake further studies in both local public and private universities and colleges by providing HSBC malaysian scholarship.

HSBC prides itself as an organization that places great emphasis on the importance of education in our community. It is also a key focus area in our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. As part of our commitment to the local community in Malaysia, HSBC's Scholarship Awards aims to provide an opportunity for under-privileged youths to pursue their dream in higher education.

Now in its fifth year, the HSBC Scholarship Awards aims to do just that by enabling deserving needy students to complete a 3-year degree programme with a scholarship from HSBC. The HSBC Scholarship Award aims to assist students from low-income backgrounds from all over the country to undertake further studies in both local public and private universities and colleges.Selection criteria will be based on financial needs and academic performances.

Field Of Study
First Degree.

Eligibility

  1. Full time first-degree studies in a recognized local Public or Private universities or college inclusive of twinning programme.
  2. Malaysian citizen, below 25 years of age
  3. SPM minimum 5 distinction; or
  4. Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran (STPM) minimum 2As and 2Bs and a pass in General Studies; or Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of minimum of 3.00 for Diploma / Matriculation / Foundation.
  5. 3 years full-time degree course.
  6. Applicants must not be in receipt of any other scholarships, or award from any educational institutions, or any other organizations/foundation
Scholarship Value
Private Universities/Colleges (twinning programme) – RM24,000.00, Public Universities – RM18,000.00 (Disbursed over a period of 3 years (RM8,000/RM6,000 per annum respectively).No bonding required
