Scholarships at Australian universities

LAUNCHED in October 2001, the Malaysian Australian Alumni Council (MACC) Scholarships build on the spirit of the Colombo Plan, which enabled some 4,000 Malaysians to study in Australia from the early 1950s until the mid-1980s.

The MACC Scholarships take the Colombo Plan a step further by providing for a two-way exchange of scholars between Malaysia and Australia. The scholarships include full or partial waivers of tuition fees and are offered to Malaysian and Australian students to undertake their tertiary education in each other’s countries.

The scholarship is spearheaded by the MAAC, an umbrella organisation for Australian university alumni in Malaysia, and IDP Education Australia Pty Ltd (Malaysia) administrates Australia-bound scholarships.

Application is now open for the 2008 round, with nine participating Australian universities offering various scholarships for Malaysian applicants. For more information, visit www.australia.org.my or call IDP Education at 03-2162-3755.

Malaysian Australian Alumni Council is a great organization in making the dream come true for many students who are interested in pursiung their studies in Australia.

currently im in my twinning degree program and majoring in psychological science. Recently i got an offer letter from University of Adelaide, Australia for a 2 years course with a total cost of $AUD40,000.

due to some financial problem, im having difficulties in accepting this offer.

with a concrete confident, i’m hoping MACC will offer me a scholarship to make my dreams come true.

hello, I am the one who unluckly was refused by the Australian High Commission-Islamabad Pakistan by no means still I had completed all required documents when I applied in Feb-2008 and am also able to afford my lessons+accomadations etc…fees.

I will be proud to be an Afghan-Australian student, cuz all people around the world know that Afghanistan needs to be constructed only by educated people. I am one of them would be able to do something to my own native country when I get finished my degree from Australia.

I request scholership program to give a chance for whome to re-build humantarian capacity especially in Afghanistan.

I am Md. Mamun-Ur-Rashid Askari from Bangladesh. I graduated with a B.Sc. in Computer Science and Engineering, from one of the recognized Bangladeshi Government universities.
I had my Masters from the same discipline and same department.
