The Star Education Fund, established by Star Publications (M) Bhd since 1994 with the primary objective of providing educational opportunities to deserving young Malaysians, invites eligible candidates to apply for The Star Education Scholarship Awards 2008 to pursue full time undergraduate studies at local universities in the following disciplines:
FIELD OF STUDY
UM, UKM, UPM, USM & UUM

* Bachelor of Accountancy
* Bachelor of Computer Science
* Bachelor of Information Technology

UTAR

* Bachelor of Arts (Hons) Graphic Design & Multimedia

ELIGIBILITY

Candidates must:

* Be Malaysian citizens of not more than 25 years of age as at 1st January 2008.
* Possess good academic records (STPM or equivalent).
* Possess strong leadership qualities through active participation in extra curricular activities.
* Not be bonded to or in receipt of any financial aids from other educational institutions or organizations.
* Have gained admission to the local public universities for approved courses of study.

SCHOLARSHIP TERMS & CONDITIONS

The scholarship is:

* Valued at RM7,500 for public universities and RM10,000 for UTAR per academic year
* Tenable for the minimum period required by the recipient to complete the course.
* Successful candidates may be required to serve Star Publications (M) Bhd upon completion of their studies.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

1. To obtain an application form, please submit a stamped (40 sen) self-addressed envelope (25cm x 30cm) and indicate the course applied for in the top left-hand corner of the envelope or.

2. Completed application forms with the required supporting documents listed in the application forms must be received by 15th July 2008. Late applications will not be accepted. Only short-listed candidates will be notified.

3. The Star Education Fund Committee will conduct interviews and candidates will be selected in open competition on the basis of a combination of factors, which include academic performance, family background, active involvement in extra curricular activities and personal qualities.

IM HAVING MY SPM THIS YEAR ( 2008 ) AND IM HAVING MY TRIAL ON 2ND SEPTEMBER 2008. I WONDER IF THERE IS ALREADY ANY SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE FOR 2009 INTAKE ? I WOULD REALLY LIKE TO APPLY AS SOON AS POSSIBLE….I WOULD LIKE TO TAKE A COURSE ON PHARMACY OR BUSINESS. PLEASE INFORM ME….THANK YOU

Hello, i’m taking SPM this year(2008) and already sat for my trial exam. Therfore, i need know if there is any scolarships available for further my studies in medicine or acturial science courses which can be applied using my trial exam result or later using my SPM result. Moreover, i need to know the requirements to apply for the scholarships. If can send me the address of the websites to surf in and get more detailed informations about the courses.Thank you

I’d sat for the trial for SPM 2008, and 20 days more to the real exam. Is there any form for applying the Star Education Fund now? And also I would like to take a course on Accountancy.
