The Tanjong Scholarship Awards 2008

The Tanjong Scholarship Awards (TSA) are open to financially needy and academically deserving Malaysian students to pursue full-time degree programmes in any discipline at public universities in Malaysia.

Funded by Pan Malaysian Pools Sdn Bhd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tanjong, the TSA 2008 are open to Malaysian citizens who have obtained 4 principals with a minimum of 3As in their STPM 2007 examination, or completed Matriculation Programme for the 2007/2008 session with a minimum CGPA of 3.5. Applicants who are active in sports and/or co-curricular activities would have an added advantage.
The value of each award is RM7,000 per academic year for the minimum period required to complete the course of study. Successful candidates must have gained admission to a public university to pursue their degree programmes. There is no bond attached to the scholarship. However, as part of the Group’s efforts to develop its human capital, scholars will be given preference in respect of employment opportunities within the Group upon their graduation.

Application for the TSA 2008 is now open. Details of the scholarship awards are available from the advertisement published in major newspapers in Malaysia from 10-13 April 2008. Closing date for submission of application form is 5 May 2008 (for STPM candidates) and 5 June 2008 (for Matriculation Programme candidates). Only shortlisted candidates will be called for interview.

Eligibility
• Must be Malaysian citizens.
• Must have obtained 4 principals with a minimum of 3As in the STPM 2007 examination, or completed Matriculation programme for the 2007/2008 session with a minimum CGPA of 3.5
• Applicants who are active in sports and/or extra-curricular activities would have an added advantage.

Value of Award
• The value for each award is RM7,000 per academic year. Each award will be for the minimum period required to complete the course of study.

Terms & Conditions
• The Scholarship Awards are subject to the terms and conditions stated in the Scholarship Agreement.
• Successful candidates must have gained admission to a public university in Malaysia.
• There is no bond attached to the Scholarship. However, as part of the Group’s efforts to develop its human capital, scholars will be given preference in respect of employment opportunities within the Group upon their graduation.

i am stpm leaver ‘07 and i have obtained 2A 2B with the CGPA 3.5, also active in co-curricur activities. i want to pursue my study in financial course. am i eligable for this scholarship?

i just noticed this scholarship application form.i am one of the top ten student in perak.and the subjects i took were account, economy, business, math s and pengajian Am with the CGPA of 4.0.i am very interested in the field of investment especially in foreign currency.in nasional level, i obtained the third place of essey competion.and iam quite active in my co-curiculum.
The puspose that i apply for this scolarship is to relieve the burden of my family financial restraint problem and to continue pursuit my studies.actually, this is the first time i apply scolarship from internet. on this few months, i am busying working as direct sales.that is why i have missed up many golden opporturnities.Any way, i would like to attend any interview convenient to you.i would like to take the course of economy because i really interested in the field of foreign currency.

i just want to check it out that there is any scholarship available for local university student who currently pursuing in degree course. im doing SARJANA MUDA SAINS MATEMATIK KEWANGAN in universiti malaysia terengganu. im done wit my second semester n nw im waiting for results. i desperately need sum financial support to further my studies. i got 3.57 pointer in first semester. so i wish that sir/madam will help me to further my studies more. thanks

My name is Khor Su Lin, currently is taking the course of Pharmacy in University Science Malaysia. I am now finish my third year studies and will be a final year student soon. I am not a scholarship holder so far, but i wish to apply for financial aid to help me complete my final year study because my family is now facing some financial problems . I would like to know that whether TSA is offering scholarship to those who are in their mid way of studies like me.

I guess I’m maybe is too late to notice this scholarship. And I need to know whether am I still have chance to apply this scholarship or not? And may i know when is your closing date for this scholarship? When can apply again if i’m already late than closing date?
i am a first year accounting student in UKM.i now i at 3rd semester. my 1st semester CGPA is 3.33 & 2nd semester CGPA is 3.15.Is it i able to apply this scholarship by this result? I really need your scolarship to further my study because we are facing the financial problem and my family can’t afford it.I ask from the bottom of my heart from the committee to give me an oppurtunity to get this scholarship. .THANK YOU very much.

I would like to ask whether i am qualified to apply for The Tanjong Scholarship as i have just received my A Level result and i got A’s in Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics and B in Biology.
I would like to have a course of Bachelor of Pharmacy in UCSI ( University College Sedaya International) Malaysia. I will start the course for the July intake next year.
Can you give me some information about the scholarship?

Now i’m still taking my Higher National Diploma in Business and will graduate by 2009. Now my overall cgpa is around 3.70 and i plan to further my study for Degree in International Business but the financial will be the big problem for me, so can i apply for The Tanjung Scholarship? i think of continue my degree after my HND program, so by around 2010 will start my further study, so at the time is that the scholarship still available?
