Yayasan Sime Darby Undergraduate and Postgraduate Scholarship Programme

Yayasan Sime Darby is pleased to announce the opening of applications for the Undergraduate and Postgraduate Scholarship Programme - FY 2008/2009.

Scholarships will be offered to individuals pursuing the following fields of study:
• Engineering : Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Computer
• Business : Accountancy, Finance, Business Administration, Computer Science,Information and Communication Technology
• Science : Agriculture, Food Technology, Plantations Technology, Plantation Management, Forestry, BiotechnologyUndergraduate Studies
The requirement for Undergraduate scholarship is as follows:
• SPM (minimum 7 A1s in subjects taken) and any of the following:
o STPM (CGPA of at least 3.5)
o Matriculation/ Diploma (CGPA of at least 3.5)
o ‘A Level’(minimum 3As)
o Australian TER (minimum 90.0)
• Individuals pursuing their first or second year undergraduate studies are also encouraged to apply.

Postgraduate Studies
The requirement for Postgraduate scholarship is as follows:
• Masters Degree. Individuals should have obtained a Bachelors Degree with minimum Second Class Upper (Hons) or equivalent.
• PhD. Individuals should have obtained a “Distinction” / “A” grade in average / or any other equivalent grade in their MastersDegree.
Individuals who are currently pursuing their PhD in their first or second year are also encouraged to apply.

I’m a student of SPM year 2006. Currently I’m studying in an allied health sciences college and I’ve finished the 1st semester. My results 4 SPM iare 6A1(Bahasa Melayu, Bahasa Inggeris, Matematik, Matematik Tambahan, Pengetahuan Moral, and Prinsip Perakaunan), 2A2(Kimia and Sejarah) and 3B3(Biologi, Fizik, and EST). To whom it may concern,
im currently finishing up my last semester in BSc.(Hons) Polymer Technology in one of the local universities.
My current CGPA is 3.89 and i graduated my diploma with a CGPA of 3.83.
I have registered to take the TOEFL exams in May and then apply for a placing in the states to do my postgraduate studies.
I would just like to know whether i am eligible to apply even though i have not confirmed a placing yet in states since i havent taken the TOEFL exams yet.

I got 101 As for my SPM 2007, and I am really interested to get this kind of scholarship, offered by Sime Darby. That’s why i’m here, hoping to get more intention towards this matter. I am jealous because my friends whose results are less than mine, have just been offered scholarships. I admit it is everybody’s fate. But, as one of successful students who did put efforts to get flying colour results for SPM, I think I deserve this much. Thanks to those who are really concern.

I’ll be having my UEC2008(something slightly lower than A levels) and will be persueing tertiary education in the UK, guess it’ll be in Newcastle for the low living cost.

I’ve been looking for scholarship to defray my tertiary education since after SPM2005. I scored 8As’ (7A1 1A2) 2Bs’. I’m now undergoing my degree level (Bachelor of English Linguistics and Literature, intended to minor in Mass Communication). Well, I just go through this website accidentally and I would like to give some comments to all students here. I feel pretty sad to read the responses posted here. The minimum requirements for applying this scholarship are listed and if you are qualified, you can just try to apply for it. The method of applying is also stated. I’m wondering why you all like to ask those annoying and meaningless questions. Financial problems and dreams are not the main reasons for you to beg for the scholarship. There are thousands of people having the same problem with you. If you really want to get any scholarship, please show your ability. You’ll get the scholarship if you really deserve it. My last comment, if you want to be an outstanding person, at least, show a proper English when writing. Please respect yourself. Good luck to you all.

Currently I have not apply any local/ overseas or public/ private university. Can I apply any scholarship before offered by any university and when should I apply?

Unfortunately,when I found out this scholarship it is quite late, but I really want to try to apply for the scholarship .I currently study in second semester. Good days sir/miss/madam.
I am currently taking Resource Biotechnology in UNIMAS.
I didnt manage to get the PTPTN loan because of some bureaucracy procedures.
My father paid my fee for already three semesters. It is hard for him to afford my fee and monthly expenses because I have four more siblings who are currently further their studies in primary and secondary school. I might need a lot of money for my third year project.
Therefore, to apply the Sime Darby schorlarship is my effort to reduce my father’s burden.
I score 8As and 2Bs in SPM with A1 in English GCE ‘O’ Level and CPGA of 3.22 in matriculation. My latest result is 3.08 (CGPA).
I hope you can let me know as if I manage to get the scholarship or not.

my result is not so excellent..just get for 4A in SPM and I am undergraduate student yet still study for final year of associate degree.
I have a wish to continue my degree to oversea but i came from poor family and I just depend on scholarship to further my study for long time. I just can survive by getting it. I am in depressed to continue my study to New Zealand for Business Management Course but i got no financial aid at all. My family can’t afford it. I am finding scholarship to help me to further my study and my dream. Hi,

I just graduated Diploma in Pharmacy. My lecturer offers me to further Degree in Pharmacy which take 2 yrs n 4 months. It is a twining program. My lecturer said that i able to transfer credit. I will be straight away enter into 3rd year and 4th year.The class will be start on May 2010 at my college, then will be further studies on September 2010 at Liverpool John Moores University, UK for 2 yrs. But i have financial problem to cover my tuition fees n expenses during this 2 yrs in UK. I would like to apply the scholarship. Can i apply? Is there any scholarship i can apply?

I just finished my SPM 2009 examination recently.

I’ve scored 9A’s (BM, BI, BC, Mod Math, History, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and EST) as well as 3B’s (Moral, Add Math, and Accounts) for my SPM 2009 trial examinations.

Good day! Am writing on behalf of my daughter who is a Malaysian citizen, will be graduatinbg in Nursing degree this 29th April 2010 in Manila,. After the graduation she will be setting in for her board exam and thereafter she will sit in for another exam which is the Mcat. Once she passess these board exams she intends to pursue her studies to medicine in the United States of America. Now my question is; is there a way where we can apply for a scholarship loan? i right now will go undergraduate course in mechanical engineering in IIUM. Previously i was a former foundation student at CFS IIUM at Gombak and only manage to get 3.29. Even though my result was not within the minimum requirement but i have the soft skill of managing a project and others due to intense work in social club and have handle more than 2 project during my life at CFS. Therefore i am interested to work under Sime Darby company in the future in order to gain my experience and maybe when i have the most of the skill in engineering, i want to develop Sime Darby in engineering sector as a top company in the world. Hopefully you can give me the chance to have the scholarship even though i have to fight with others to get that chance. Tq
